Getting to Oxford
Oxford is a well connected city for visitors. It is, however, no friend of the car, so please bear this in mind when planning your journey.
Travel by Car
Whilst Oxford is easily accessible via the M4 and M40, the entirety of Oxford city centre operates restricted parking rules. You should assume there is no reliable street parking available anywhere in central Oxford. There are Park & Ride facilities on the outskirts of Oxford where you can park for up to 72 hours for as little as £12. There are then excellent public transport and taxi connections into the city centre. Some hotels offer limited parking. There will be no parking available during the wedding itself at either New College or St Hugh's College.
Travel by Train
Oxford has excellent train links with London, Birmingham, Southampton, and Manchester. Trains run regularly - usually several per hour - to London, although less frequently to other locations. Trains to London tend to run until around midnight. There are park and ride facilities at Oxford Parkway station, so it would be possible to park there and then take the train into central Oxford.
Travel by Bus
The Oxford Tube bus service runs 24 hours between London Victoria and central Oxford and represents good value for money. Megabus and National Express both run services from Gloucester Green Bus Station in central Oxford. Within Oxford itself, there are good bus services linking the centre of the city with the periphery, and there are regular Park & Ride bus services.
Airport Connections
Oxford has excellent connections to several major airports. The Airline Bus connects Oxford directly to Heathrow and Gatwick airports and runs regularly. National Express provides a direct bus service from Oxford to London Luton Airport. There are direct train links to Birmingham International Airport and Southampton Airport. There is even a local private airport, in the unlikely event anybody is planning to arrive by private jet (you never know!).
