Places to Stay

Oxford has a number of hotels to cater for most budgets, but accommodation can book up very quickly, especially if there is a major University event happening, in which case it can become very difficult to find places within the city. We have suggested a few hotels and other alternatives below that are well located for the day.

Jury's Inn Hotel

This is a good quality hotel located near the North Oxford ring road and well positioned for getting into the city centre. The hotel has ample parking and is usually not too expensive. It is easily accessible by car. There are regular buses from here to the city centre and a taxi to New College or from St Hugh's would cost approximately £10 and be a roughly 10 minute journey (depending on traffic). There are very nice walks and pubs nearby too.

Randolph Hotel

This can be very expensive but is one of the best located hotels in Oxford and is famously a frequent setting of multiple episodes of Morse. The hotel is easily accessible by car, and offers a limited amount of valet parking. New College is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Randolph, and St Hugh's College is a 5 minute taxi ride away. The famous Ashmolean museum is directly over the road and is well worth a visit.

Bath Place Hotel

This is an attractive Bed & Breakfast hidden in one of Oxford's famous alleyways. It is probably the best positioned hotel in Oxford. It is about a minute's walk from New College, and a five minute taxi ride to St Hugh's College. However, there is no parking at all. There are bus stops within 5 minutes' walk and it is easily accessible by taxi from the train station.

St Hugh's College

Our College has numerous single- and double-bed rooms available for our chosen date at very affordable prices. These have the added advantage of being at the same venue as the reception so you will not have to walk very far to get back to your accommodation! It is a very relaxing setting with some of the most beautiful (south facing) gardens in Oxford. The price even includes breakfast! There is limited parking available, and College is a short taxi or bus ride from both Oxford and Oxford Parkway train stations and Gloucester Green bus station. It is a five minute taxi ride away from New College.
