New College

New College is one of the most beautiful Oxford Colleges, and we are very fortunate they have agreed to host us for our wedding.

The formal ceremony begins at 3pm on Saturday 20th August 2022.

The ceremony will be officiated by our lovely College Chaplain, Dr Erica Longfellow.

The College have advised that guests should aim to arrive at the College by 2:15pm. Traffic in Oxford can be quite challenging at weekends, so if you need to get a taxi into the College from the outskirts of the City please bear this in mind - you should allow at least 15 minutes, depending on where you are traveling from. There are four major entry routes into Oxford and, generally speaking, those from the south and west have the worst traffic.

The ceremony is expected to last 45 minutes to an hour. No photography is permitted during the ceremony. These are the rules of the College Chapel.

There will then be a short drinks reception in the New College Cloisters. Photography is permitted during the drinks reception.

Afterward, those guests able to stay for the reception will join us at St Hugh's College. We are presently investigating whether it will be possible for us to arrange a coach for guests between the two Colleges. There is some difficulty getting coaches down the narrow side streets of central Oxford, and we will confirm in correspondence whether this proves possible.

New College itself is accessible by taxi but you should assume there will be no parking available at or near the College. There are two entrances to the College and we will ensure an usher is manning both entrances. We would recommend using the Holywell Street entrance if you are coming by vehicle of any kind, and the Queen's Lane entrance if you are walking.
